The episode of Dawson's Creek (1998) that Tara is watching is Season 1, Episode 11, "The Scare." This episode is a loving homage to Friday the 13th (1980), where the Capeside gang are terrified that a serial killer is going to catch them. Joshua Jackson not only starred in Dawson's Creek but also had a small part in Scream 2 (1997) as a film studies student. Also Scott Foley can be seen in the episode, who appeared in Scream 3 (2000).
