Even though the series, based on the novel of the same name written by an American author, Anne Rice, is produced in the United States, its leading cast members are not Americans. Sam Reid, who portrays the French Lestat de Lioncourt, is Australian, and Jacob Anderson, who portrays the African American Creole Louis de Pointe du Lac, is British.
