Just prior to Eazy-E's death, an N.W.A reunion was considered. This would have been the first time since Ice Cube's departure from the group in 1989 that he, Eazy, Dr. Dre, M.C. Ren and DJ Yella had worked together. While Eazy's death ended hopes of N.W.A ever reuniting, the surviving members (minus Yella), along with Snoop Dogg, regrouped in 1999 to record a song in memory of Eazy called "Chin Check", which appears on the soundtrack to Cube's movie Next Friday (2000).
