Edward Woodward (Tom Weaver) appears in both this film and The Wicker Man, another film about a cop who uncovers a conspiracy in a small town. In The Wicker Man, he plays the cop. In this film, he's one of the main conspirators. In both films he dies a fiery death: in Hot Fuzz, he's blown up by a sea mine; in The Wicker Man, he's burned alive inside the titular structure.
