The beach shack lived in by successive DIs is filmed on Plage de la Perle on the northern coast of the western island (Basse-Terre) of Guadeloupe. The islet visible across the sea from there (and in many other scenes) is Ilet Kahouanne. Plage de la Perle is 5km north of Deshaies, the location used for Honoré.
