With most people's memories of seeing this film, it might be surprising that, due to Eli Wallach's receiving second billing, Steve McQueen was relegated to third billing, albeit above the title. Perhaps as surprising, considering that Horst Buccholz's credit was moved to very last in the cast to promote him as an introduced star, was that James Coburn has seventh billing, even after Brad Dexter--that being seventh where one of "the Seven" wasn't even included.
