There are at least three ties to the Marx Brothers in this film. First, Al Schoen, their uncle, plays the musical director/conductor for the Paradise. Second, Al Schoen's character is referred to as "The Professor." In Animal Crackers, Harpo Marx's is also referred to as that and is a professor of music as well. Third, Edgar Kennedy, the sheriff hired by Blackie Norton to serve papers, was the lemonade vendor that is bothered by Harpo and Chico in Duck Soup, the Marx Brothers' final film before Zeppo left.
