When Thor is found adrift in space by the Guardians of the Galaxy, this is not the first time in the Marvel Comics Universe where the Guardians find him, in the Guardians 3000 featuring Star Hawk, Vance Astro, Yondu, Rocket and others come across a frozen Thor floating in space while they are searching for Captain America's shield. He is also alive in the future with Mjölnir still intact, but frozen for nearly one thousand years.
