The sequence where Hammer pitches his weapons arsenal to Rhodey is an homage to a sequence in Taxi Driver (1976), beginning at time stamp 54:50, when Travis Bickle meets the gun dealer Easy Andy in the hotel room. Like the dealer in "Taxi Driver," Hammer gives brief descriptions of each weapon's capability, and even places them on the table the same way afterwards.
