A diner was built in the small town of Thibodaux, Louisiana (sixty miles west of New Orleans), where all of the diner interior/exterior scenes were shot. Locals saw the diner set and kept asking the film crew when the new diner was going to open. It was left there after filming was completed. Director Rian Johnson was later told that it was still standing after Hurricane Isaac moved through in September 2012. It was torn down in March 2014.
