One of the scenes that were filmed but later cut was Chewbacca being tortured by Kylo Ren. Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo described filming as tough and said that Adam Driver was "very sociopathic". Suotamo wasn't sure if the scene was cut due to the violence or because it didn't fit that Kylo would become so dark before returning to the light side.
