Reakesh Om Prakash Mehra approached Anil Kapoor in 2013 for the film .Also gave him DVD of Everybody's Famous.But Anil Kapoor didn't take it seriously.While shooting for Mirzya 2016 with Anil Kapoor's son Harshwardhan Kapoor he again approached him for the film and agreed to do it.
