In 2005 director of the Astrobiologic Centre, Juan Pérez Mercader, created a robot which was to travel to Mars and was 'trained' at a Spanish river called Tinto which have the presence of anaerobic bacteria that is believed to live on the red planet. This robot was named P-Tinto after the movie.
