The picture, as reported in the 20th July 1976 edition of show-business trade paper 'The Hollywood Reporter', was initiated and green-lit by two studio heads: Ray Stark, who was head of RASTAR Productions, and Stanley R. Jaffe, who was Executive Vice-President at Columbia Pictures. RASTAR production house pictures were regularly distributed by Columbia.
