Near the end of the movie Thandiwe Newton's character Bonnie Soyinka is flicking television channels. One of the shots depicts director Taika Waititi probably as The Captain - a main character of the short movie The Captain (2013) which was co-directed by Nash Edgerton and Spencer Susser, co-written by all three of them, and in which both brothers Edgerton - Nash and Joel Edgerton play dead bodies. Taika Waititi appears also in the end credits of Truffatori in erba (2018) in the section "Special Thanks".
