In the scene at The Presidential Gala, Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) wears make-up that is reminiscent of Elizabeth Taylor's look in Cleopatra (1963). They also did either CGI work or direct facial lighting to highlight Lawrence's eyes. They changed them from her natural Steely Gray to a Violet hue. There is a mistaken belief that Taylor's eyes were violet, although they were not.
