The film was a box office bomb domestically, grossing $48 million on its $50 million budget. However, the film managed to break even with the worldwide box office gross, totaling $97 million. Surprisingly, the film was very successful on home video, grossing over $22 million in VHS and DVD sales. The film's Blu-ray also saw a spike in sales following Chris Rock mentioning the film at the 94th Academy Awards.
