In Power Rangers (1993), Zordon was trapped in a time warp by Rita Repulsa. In the film, Alpha 5 transferred Zordon's essence into the ship as he died, keeping him "alive" inside the Power Grid until it could be reopened by the next generation of Power Rangers, enabling Zordon to be revived in a new body.
