Sanjay Dutt was offered & approached by the Mahesh Bhatt & Anurag Basu for the Shiney Ahuja's role of "Gangster" Daya Shankar ; then later for negative sober villainous role of police office Emraan Hashmi but he declined both roles of film due to his commitments for other films & date issues.
