Thanks to her portrayal of Liesl Von Trapp in Tutti insieme appassionatamente (1965), Charmian Carr was locked into a contract with 20th Century Fox. When she lamented to costar Julie Andrews that she was unable to appear in the movie, Andrews retorted the predicament to her own manager, who pulled strings and got Carr out of the contract. It was Carr's third and final screen role before she left showbiz to raise a family.
