The scene on the rooftop between Drake and Blade is not only similar to the scene from the first Blade movie between Frost and Blade, but also a scene from Hellboy II (Which was directed by Guillermo Del Toro, the initial choice of director for Trinity) where Hellboy is forced to make an impossible choice involving a human baby while being lectured by the villain, Prince Nuada (who previously played Jared Nomak in Blade II, directed by Guillermo Del Toro.).
