Because of the injury he suffered during the production of this film, Christopher Lee was unable to accept the role in The Wicker Tree (2011) that Robin Hardy had written for him, and instead took a smaller bit part as a character listed in the credits simply as "Old Man"; there is a continuing debate as to whether or not this was intended to be Lord Summerisle, his character from The Wicker Man (1973).
