Tom Hardy was considered to play the role of John Connor, but ended up playing Mad Max in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). Sam Worthington played a significant part in Terminator Salvation (2009). Before Hardy, Worthington was considered for the title role of Mad Max, and Mel Gibson (the title character in Interceptor - Il guerriero della strada (1981) was offered the title role in Terminator (1984).
