British comedy legend Kenneth Williams played Inspector Truscott in the original stage production of Orton's play 'Funeral Games'. Although the play bombed and was rewritten, recast, and relaunched the next year under the new title 'Loot' (and became a smash hit), Williams and Orton got on quite well as both had a very macabre sense of humor and enjoyed shocking people. While it is not depicted in the film (as Williams was still alive at the time of production), Williams actually accompanied Orton and Halliwell out to Morocco for part of their holiday, although he only stayed two weeks of the 80 days Orton and Halliwell spent there.
