Part financed by the short lived British television channel, British Satellite Broadcasting. A year or two later BSB got into financial trouble and were bought out by rival Sky Broadcasting to eventually become BSkyB. The relative critical success of this film inspired the BBC to set up their own film production office who frequently produce or are a production partner on many British made medium budget productions.
