Though receiving mostly positive reviews, the film was a box office disaster and one of the lowest grossing films of 2018. The film was projected to gross around $4 million in its opening weekend from 1,403 theaters. Upon release, however it ended up debuting to just barely $1 million, finishing 15th at the box office, making it one of the worst opening weekends for a wide theatrical release of nearly 1,500 theaters. After 2 weeks, the film was dropped from hundreds of theater chains down to only 15 screenings for the remainder of its theatrical run. Even though the film remained in theaters for 14 weeks (3 and 1/2 months), it barely managed to gross $2.9 million, less than half of its $7 million budget. This film ended up becoming one of the biggest box office bombs of 2018.
