Kalyanji Anandji took inspiration from Rufus and Chaka Khan song "You Got The Love". During the scene when Amitabh is climbing the rope up the building to meet Ifthekar, Kalyanji and Anandji sampled the guitar bass line sound used in that song. The exact part comes at 0:12 of the Chaka Khan song. But Kalyanji and Anandji took that guitar bass line portion and remade that tune/sound with a piano. The newly created sound ran deeper than the original. Years later Tone Loc took inspiration and sampled that same beat for his his song "On Fire" ( Remix). Suga T song "Woman" and Lenny Kravitz song "Its Your Life" also sampled that same beat/ tune.
