Just like the previous adaptation, Rebecca - La prima moglie (1940), the story ends with the death of Mrs. Danvers. This makes the events depicted in Mrs. DeWinter, the sequel to the novel authorized by the estate of Daphne Du Maurier, impossible to adapt to film.
