The original ending did not feature the fight between Alex and the Farnsworth cyborg. After reading Farnsworth's letter, Alex and Max are observed as they walk away by the Farnsworth cyborg, who then tells an unseen woman to take them out. Other versions of the film do not show Farnsworth but still have the dialogue in voiceover.
