(Spoilers) This film has been compared by critics to Una settimana da Dio (2003), but has a couple of major differences. For one, Bruce cannot go against other people's free will, but Neil can; and for another, God is a major part of the plot in Bruce Almighty, but is never mentioned in Absolutely Anything. Neil gets his power from aliens who never meet him.
