Greg Kinnear reveals in the DVD/Blu-Ray commentary track that he himself does not appear in the climactic scene wherein a sleeping Bob Crane is bludgeoned to death. The body was actually a lifelike rubber mold of Kinnear posed to recreate crime scene photos of the dead Crane.
