The film's interpretation of Bane varies from most of his appearances in the comics. In the film, when strengthened by Venom, Bane does not retain his above-average intellect and cunning, becoming a glorified henchman. Having near god-like physical strength, yet intellect far below that of their enemies, is a cliche that could be viewed among other opponents in Batman's Rogues Gallery, like Solomon Grundy, or certain interpretations of Clayface and Killer Croc.
