The soundtrack featured music of the period including tracks by Nazia Hassan, Bappil Lahiri and others. The director and music consultant, Edo Bouman, also tracked down rare unused tapes recorded by composer Ilaiyaraaja as backing scores for various films. These were restored for the soundtrack of Miss Lovely. While doing research for the project, Bouman also re-discovered the forgotten1982 album "Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat" by Chiranjit Singh which many now claim to be the first-ever acid house record. Bouman re-released the album in 2010 on his Bombay Connection label to massive worldwide success and renewed interest in Chiranjit Singh.
