"Wokanda" (or "Waucanda") is an old Native American name that translates to "Spirit Water." Camp Wokanda was a real-life Boy Scout camp near Peoria, IL, recently acquired by the Peoria Park District. Another real-life Camp Wakonda exists near Sault st. Marie Ontario, on Lake McCarrell. Dan Aykroyd grew up in Ottawa.
