Harrison Ford replaced Bruce Willis as the new Expendables CIA contact Max Drummer. Ford, Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were considered and offered the role of John McClane in Trappola di cristallo (1988), but they all turned it down, due to being busy with films made the same year, and the role went to Willis.
