Oxygen helmets were required for Hunt and Walker at 25,000 feet, but standard helmets cover the face. In order to create a "hero" helmet, the supervising modeler and team first tried using 3-D printed hard resin, but it wasn't strong enough, so the helmets were reinforced with copper and then painted black.
