Skynet, an invasive Artificial Intelligence designed to manage computerized defense technology and weaponry, takes the form of Serena Kogan. This could be an inverted reference to the expanded universe of Dune by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert, where an invasive Artificial Intelligence called Omnius took control of the slave-soldier machines working for various human leaders and rapidly enslaved humanity and is battled originally by a politician known as Serena Butler.
