Tobe Hooper had hired Peter Porteous, John Forbes-Robertson, and Nicholas Donnelly for Venom (1981), on which he had worked the pre-production and two weeks of production before leaving the project. Casting Director Maude Spector, who cast this movie, also cast that movie.
