Paul Greengrass got his inspiration of car chases from William Friedkin, who made Il braccio violento della legge (1971), as well as other movies with car chases, like Vivere e morire a Los Angeles (1985), Jade (1995), and The Hunted - La preda (2003), which starred Tommy Lee Jones. Jones also worked with Friedkin on Regole d'onore (2000), before reuniting on The Hunted (2003).
