During the arrest scene, Jep Gambardella discovers that his mysterious and well-dressed neighbor is called Moneta and that he works for an organization that "keeps Italy going." With 'moneta' being the Italian word for 'coin,' the neighbor is clearly based upon the real-life Cosa Nostra boss Matteo Messina Denaro (whose family name - 'Denaro' - is the Italian word for 'money'). As of May 2010, Denaro ranked among the ten most wanted fugitives in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
