The songs "The Reaper" and "The Reaper Rap" (which can be heard in the closing credits) are performed by Steve Vai, who worked with Frank Zappa from 1980 to 1983. One of Zappa's sons Dweezil Zappa actually co-wrote the song "Two Heads Are Better Than One" by Power Tool, which appears in the closing credits in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) and as the closing track to the film's soundtrack album. Years later, Alex Winter (a huge Zappa fan) wrote and directed the documentary Zappa (2020).
