Beverlee McKinsey was not quite nine years older than her "stepdaughter" Sondra Locke. Antoinette says her father died when she herself was nine years old, which makes for implausible casting. Unsurprisingly, it had been Locke - an individual of boundless vanity - who recommended McKinsey for the role.
