Sandie's name (and the spelling) seems to be a reference to Sandie Shaw, also a 1960s singer who wore a lot of pink swing dresses and often performed barefoot. The movie features two Sandie Shaw songs - "Puppet On a String" in the Rialto cabaret performance, and "Always Something There to Remind Me" when Eloise runs from the workroom after having a vision where the model in the pink dress is replaced by Sandie.
