Inspector Pazzi's name is pronounced as "patsy", which means "gullible fool" in English. This could be interpreted as a foreshadowing of the character's tragic fate. It is, by some, believed to have come to mean what it does in English, after members of the Pazzi family indeed did kill Giuliani D'Medici and were executed for it.
