In the film, the Joker fires at the Batwing, using a Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 with a custom 21 inch barrel. The real-life weapon is a six-shot double-action revolver. The Model 15 (in variants 1, 2, and 3) was the standard issue sidearm of the U.S. Air Force Air/Security Police from 1962 to 1992. It was issued to security personnel in other branches of the U.S. armed forces, including the Naval Security Forces.
