(at around 29 mins) When Benedict Cumberbatch expresses his doubt upon first arriving at Kamar-Taj, he is shown alternate dimensions by the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), where he is seen traveling through a multi-colored wormhole. This is an obvious visual reference to Dave Bowman's space traveling sequence towards the end of 2001: Odissea nello spazio (1968).
