Sylvester Stallone's directorial debut. Along with F.I.S.T. (1978), these were Sylvester Stallone's first movies after Rocky (1976). Whereas that movie was about boxing, this film was about wrestling, the first of two wrestling movies starring Stallone, the other being Over the Top (1987). Stallone performed numerous duties on this production, Stallone was lead actor, writer, director, whilst the film is notable for also having Stallone be the singer of the film's title song.
