The airplane carrying the royal family is an Italian Breda-Zappata BZ.308, which was designed for routes across Europe and across the Atlantic. First flown in 1949, this airplane was only three years old at the time of filming. Unfortunately, production was canceled due to a shortage of orders. The airplane in the film was the prototype. No others were ever built.
