In a deleted scene: Before Chief Brody brings the shark photo to the town hall, Peterson and the rest of the council debate about sacking Chief Brody from his job because of his false alarm of a shark sighting which scared away the tourists on a public beach. However, Mayor Vaughn defends Brody, believing he has good intentions.
