In season four, there are flashbacks of a young Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten, in the flashback Sandy is portrayed by Max Greenfield who later stars as the character Schmitt in the TV show New Girl. Peter Gallagher then portrays Schmitt's (Max Greenfield) dad in New Girl.
